"You state Huckabee’s comments were taken 'out of context' but this is absolutely untrue. Exactly what 'context' were they taken out of? His comments were clear and unequivocal and represents an established pattern of US foreign policy that shows complete disregard for international law and norms of behaviour."

The article lacks any reference to the international law context. For example, whether U.S. strikes in June were authorized under international law, whether these attacks violated the UN Charter, and what Iran’s rights are under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, all merit inclusion in the article in order to provide the reader an adequate, balanced understanding of the situation. 

"We question your quoting of COGAT’s statistic that “less than 1% of the total aid” going into the Gaza strip is contributed by the 37 aid groups whose licenses are to be revoked. Where was the 1% statistic derived from? What was included in the 1%? Tents? Food? Baby formula? Water? Medical supplies? What about medical, public health and sanitation services? As you indicated later in the article, Palestinians in Gaza rely on aid groups for food, water, health care, shelter and other essentials."

Without this crucial context, readers are left without the information necessary to form an accurate assessment of the so-called ceasefire. We therefore urge you, at minimum, to note that since the November 27, 2024 agreement, there have been over 12,000 documented Israeli violations, just as you chose to highlight Hezbollah’s claimed strike. Presenting only one side of post-ceasefire is an incomplete narrative.

First, the headline and body refer to a “ceasefire.” Its description as “shaky” is wholly inadequate; a better qualifier would be “ephemeral” or “chimerical.” This is because, at last count, Israel’s military had killed over 600 Palestinians in Gaza since the so-called ceasefire took effect in October 2025.

"The article reports that 'at least 7,015 people have been killed' in Iran’s protest crackdown, citing the U.S.-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), while acknowledging that the AP has been unable to independently verify the toll. While HRANA’s work may be valuable, the figure is presented in a manner that risks conveying a level of certainty that does not exist."

The Israeli government’s approval of a land registration process that permits Israel to designate territory in the occupied West Bank as “state property” if Palestinians cannot prove ownership is not “contentious,” as stated in the headline. It is an illegal decision that amounts to de facto annexation under occupation.

"The article reports that U.S. President Donald Trump announced his newly created “Board of Peace” has secured $5 billion in pledges to rebuild Gaza after more than two years of Israel’s ongoing genocidal violence. It repeats his claim that the board will take on a “broader mandate to resolve global crises” and directly quotes his assertion that it will become “the most consequential International Body in History” without offering a counter-perspective."

The article reports that the UK High Court determined the government’s decision to blacklist Palestine Action was unlawful. Crucially, the British government failed to meet the legal threshold required to impose one of the most severe restrictions available under counter-terrorism law.

Media outlets have a responsibility to distinguish fact from assertions, and provide adequate, balanced context to the reader.
