Israel occupies the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem - not “captures” !

"The term “captured” suggests a sense of permanence or legal legitimacy to Israel’s control, which is contrary to the principles of international law. In contrast, “occupied” reflects the ongoing military control of these areas, as consistently described by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the UN. Failing to use the correct term misleads readers and undermines the accuracy and integrity of your reporting."

There are no doubts about it, Israel wants a regional war

"If the U.S. were committed to a ceasefire, they would not make such public statements and actions that indicate, on the opposite, that they are prepared to support Israel in its plans. One should present a more balanced and accurate portrayal of the U.S.’s position as it causes prejudice and demonizes the other parties implicated, such as Iran."

Article about rail blockade omits testimonies from protesters

"Whether this is a deliberate exclusion, or the result of inadequate research, it is poor journalism. This article is misleading as written and must be edited immediately to maintain minimum standards of objectivity."

CBC's Distorted ICC Coverage whitewashes Israeli War Crimes

"While the Associated Press and CBC’s unwillingness to publish the word “Palestine” in its reporting has always been a form of anti-Palestinian racism, this tendency has become especially offensive and outdated as 143 countries have supported UN resolution to provide new rights and privileges to Palestine, and countries like Norway, Ireland, and Spain have formally recognized the state."

Article fails to mention UNRWA report that claims its employees were tortured into confessing links with Hamas

Failing to say that Israel may have tortured Palestinians to obtain false confessions demonstrates CBC’s tendency to purport Israel’s allegations with little to no skepticism.

Correction needed to clarify that Israel is blocking aid from entering Gaza

"Aid is not being “limited in the region.” Such words tend to undermine Israel’s actions and responsibility. Israel has blocked aid from entering Gaza, although it is its responsibility as an occupying power to let aid in."

Correction needed to use more precise language when reporting on Israel's actions

"These words also obfuscate the scale of Israel’s current military campaign in Gaza. Israel has killed civilians in Gaza with military tactics and equipment besides missiles and bombs. Palestinians in Gaza are being targeted and killed by airstrikes, gunshots, and tanks, as well as fatal conditions that have caused death from lack of medicine, starvation, dehydration, and malnutrition."

Article downplays the situation in Gaza

These words not only dehumanize Palestinians' deaths but obscure Israel’s noncompliance with its obligations as an occupying power, which is the reason behind these deaths: failure to discriminate between civilians and combatants, and failure to allow humanitarian aid to reach civilians.  In fact, there are recent reports that Israel may be deliberately starving Palestinians.

Article fails to highlight the UN‘s pro-Israel bias

"An article of this sort really seems to ignore the elephant in the room, i.e. the plausible accusation of genocide against Israel.  By publishing such an article, you undermine the extremely grave accusations against Israel."

Why was no skepticism raised related to Canada's approach to airdrop aid into Gaza?

In this radio segment, you give voice to Minister of International Development Ahmed Hussen to ask him what more Canada can do to help people in Gaza. While Cullen mentions Canada increasing its funding to the WFP and questions the freezing of Canada's funding to UNRWA, she does not question Hussen’s answer about Canada considering air-dropping aid to Gaza with skepticism.
