This is one of the single-most alarming interviews we have ever seen CP24 host. It contradicts fundamental journalist standards and ethics repeatedly. A journalist should not let such radical claims go unchallenged, let alone echo her bias with similar assertions. Below are some key points, but there are many more possible angles you are welcome to include.

"While it is fair for journalist Joshua Freeman to quote various individuals who describe the graffiti in Thornhill (which featured the phrases 'Free Palestine' and 'Free Gaza') as antisemitic, it is entirely inappropriate and unfair for the journalist himself to describe the graffiti in these terms. The full details of the case are yet unknown, including the identity and intentions of the suspect. As such, this cannot definitely be described as a clear-cut case of antisemitism, especially considering the content of the graffiti."

"It is your journalistic obligation to include voices from the protesters and organizers themselves to balance the record. Please include voices from protesters, PYM, and Jews Say No To Genocide and shed light on the issue of Canada’s police brutality."

"Though these cases of indiscriminate police brutality are well-documented and widely accessible, CP24 settles for the word “pushing” to describe police actions. This works to conceal and undermine the police brutality protestors have alleged. Please adjust your wording to ensure a precise description of the video evidence."

"Also, the language in this paragraph makes it seem as if the person with the nail gun is a pro-Palestinian protestor, when, in fact, it is a person threatening the protestors.  You should rephrase, 'when a man allegedly brought a nail gun to a pro-Palestinian protest and fired it at demonstrators,' as 'when a bystander threatened pro-Palestinian protestors with a nail gun, firing it at demonstrators'."

"With respect to the “Flour Massacre” 1.5 weeks ago, is Gutfreund aware that he is repeating hearsay and that there is significant evidence that Israel is the one who shot at Palestinians queuing to get aid?  I would ask CP24 to cite the footage that Gutfreund refers to.   Gutfreund cannot make flippant claims, saying “there is plenty of footage” and “it is believed” when he is a journalist."

"They were not protesting in front of synagogues because of what they represent to the Jewish people. They were protesting in front of the synagogue because of the events they were hosting: a “real estate event” advertising stolen land for sale in the broader context of genocide in Gaza and the rise of illegal settlements in the West Bank."

"The prevailing culture of silence and white supremacy, as it was rightly pointed out by the speaker, must be challenged. Many Canadians may not be aware of the systemic anti-Palestinian racism and the intimidation faced by pro-Palestinian voices in their workplaces. It's imperative to keep emphasizing the need to stand up against certain institutions in Canada, where actions often contradict their preaching about inclusion."

"Too often, Palestinian activism is either ignored or misrepresented by mainstream media outlets, which ultimately impedes the delivery of objective news to viewers. Your efforts contribute to more balanced and nuanced reporting of Palestinian solidarity."

The anchor falsely claimed that Hamas was responsible for breaking the recent humanitarian truce. The reality, as widely reported by mainstream media outlets, is that within minutes of the truce expiring, Israel resumed its massive bombardment of Gaza.
