Your Interview with Jeremy Wildeman

Words cannot express my gratitude to Ms. Deluce for allowing Mr. Wildeman to explain, at length and uninterrupted, the depth of the horrors that Israel has inflicted upon Palestinians in Gaza over the past two years. He was given the time and the freedom necessary to explain to your viewers the basic facts: Israel has rendered Gaza all but uninhabitable due to its near-total annihilation of the housing stock and medical infrastructure; Gazans have experienced starved; the official death toll of approximately 70,000 is clearly an undercount; as Jared Kushner said, Gaza looks like “a nuclear bomb went off there.”

Inaccurate word choice during today's episode

"Many Palestinian detainees are not prisoners in the conventional sense. They are being arbitrarily detained, often without due process, which means referring to them as “prisoners” is not only misleading but, arguably, factually incorrect. Further, many of the Palestinians are women and children. And many more report facing torture, sexual abuse, and other crimes."

Thanks for including a book about the Palestinian identity and experience

"Palestinian voices, that is, Palestinians talking about themselves as opposed to others talking about them, are only just beginning to be heard in Canadian media and I hope to see this trend continue."

Palestinian claim to Jerusalem overlooked by CTV Your Morning

"Over the course of your four-minute segment, Jerusalem and the Holy sites are strictly described as being within Israel. This is a serious factual error. Both Israel and the Palestinians claim Jerusalem as their capital city, and East Jerusalem (which includes the Old City) is considered occupied Palestinian territory under international law."

Palestinian casualties erased from Huwara coverage by CTV Your Morning

"Your report was inaccurate and misleading. You fail to mention that at least one Palestinian was killed, four others were badly wounded, and around 100 were injured in the settler attack. Given that you mention the killing of two Israelis, it is not only fair, but necessary to mention the Palestinians killed or injured. This is an alarming omission and violates the Canadian Association of Broadcasters’ Code of Ethics. I am prepared to make a formal complaint."
