To only characterize Jenin as a “militant stronghold” legitimizes, albeit implicitly, the Israeli military’s framing of its attack as an “operation,” while downplaying its brutality and the devastation wrought on Palestinians living in the camp."

I request that the article is updated to mention that like Morocco, Israel is similarly an occupying power over the Palestinian territories of Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem.

I urge the AP to update its article and either remove the description of Hamas as a “militant group” or add that Hamas also “governs the Gaza Strip, provides social services, and runs media outlets.”
