Recent article whitewashes Israel's war crimes

"Under international law, Israel is considered an occupying power and has a responsibility of letting aid in. On top of it, Israel has closed border crossings, which is the only effective and efficient way to get aid despite multiple international calls asking Israel to open them."

Teotonio's article on TDSB vote failed her readers

"The job of a journalist is not just to quote what people say, but to evaluate what they say in light of objective truth. In this case, Teotonio needed to grapple with the question, “Does raising concerns about one type of discrimination automatically create another type of discrimination.”  Or more specifically in this case, is there anything in the concern about APR which is justified?  Teotonio failed in her obligation to readers."

Letter to the Editor: Re: I protested in the '60s; what I see today is different

"Gerald Batit expresses frustration that none of the pro-Palestinian encampment protestors at McGill would engage in conversation with him. While his argument appears to champion free speech, his stance misses the forest for the trees. In calling for a fair and open debate while sitting on a bench with an Israeli flag, he is ignoring the serious concerns faced by pro-Palestine demonstrators if they engage."

There was far more praise than outrage over the "Palestine motion" in article

"You did not give voice to any Palestinian groups or individuals in Canada. There are many, and if you need help reaching them, my organization would be happy to connect you with some.  As a senior journalist, I should not need to remind you of the importance of seeking the reaction of those most affected by a political development."

Article downplays the situation in Gaza

These words not only dehumanize Palestinians' deaths but obscure Israel’s noncompliance with its obligations as an occupying power, which is the reason behind these deaths: failure to discriminate between civilians and combatants, and failure to allow humanitarian aid to reach civilians.  In fact, there are recent reports that Israel may be deliberately starving Palestinians.

Article about a protest at Kitchener Colt Factory undermines the intentions behind the protest

Opening your news segment with such a sentence implies a bias against the action of the protesters. It undermines the intentions behind the protest, which was to push the Canadian government to implement an arms embargo on Israel, because of Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

One-sided video segment about a ceasefire in Gaza

"While it’s about the Israel-Hamas conflict, one would expect to see more Palestinian voices being given a platform than Dr. Amal Ismail as they are the main beneficiaries of a ceasefire and are also central to the negotiations for a ceasefire."

Gazette article about SPHR's protest is a mouthpiece for pro-Israel propaganda

This article is a blatant example of the type of biased reporting about protests that we strongly oppose. Before Palestinian advocates are allowed to provide their motivations for a protest or blockade, media outlets mention how CIJA and other pro-Israel lobby groups feel about these protests.

Article about ‘panic buttons’ portrays pro-Palestine protestors as ‘dangerous’

"I counted six specific examples of supposed harassment, three of which were pro-Palestinian protestors. Why is there a disproportionate number of examples involving these types of protests? Further, some of the examples of actions perpetrated by “pro-Palestine protestors” are perfectly reasonable, peaceful forms of protest that you frame as violent or dangerous."
