Israeli military raid was not "around" al-Shifa hospital, but "at" al-Shifa hospital

The Associated Press still begins its article listing the supposed fruits of Israel’s operation: 170 militants killed, and 480 suspects detained. The perceived military “victory” of the operation is presented to readers before Israel’s actions are even described. Writing that Israel “stormed the building” and “forced residents to leave” barely reveals a fraction of what testimonies from Palestinians at al-Shifa have reported.

Thanks for portraying the exhaustion felt by Palestinians and amplifying their voices

"I particularly appreciated your efforts in presenting real-life experiences and amplifying the voices of Palestinians, including children who have been traumatized by Israel’s military campaign. Your portrayal of the exhaustion and strain felt by all, including medical personnel, was spot on."

The word "siege" is not precise enough to describe the food and health crisis in Gaza

However, because medical professionals are specifically condemning the death, starvation, and lack of access to healthcare/medicine/water in Gaza, it would seem within the scope of the article to report on the scale to which Gaza’s healthcare infrastructure and system have been intentionally targeted and destroyed by Israel. Such context would also be useful for readers.

For CBC, the burden of proof falls on everyone but Israel

Consistently giving priority to statements provided by the IDF and deliberately excluding testimonies provided by witnesses or Palestinian government officials is a blatant double standard and perpetuates Canadian media’s tendency to assign the burden of proof to anyone but Israel

Thanks for demonstrating both the human and physical reality of Israel’s military assault on Gaza

Marcus and Sawsan Karashuli were courageous in their willingness to be interviewed at a very sad and difficult time for them. Thank you for providing space for their story to be shared.

Correction needed to indicate that Palestinians from Jerusalem encountered restrictions when entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque

"Since March 11, there have been restrictions imposed by COGAT, the Israeli defense body overseeing civilian affairs in the West Bank. COGAT Chief Ghassan Elian announced that access to the mosque for Friday prayers is limited to men over 55, women over 50, and children under 10. Worshipers now require a valid permit from COGAT, subject to security approval."

Correction needed to specify that 1.5 million Palestinians are in Rafah, not "hundreds of thousands"

"You're not using fair or accurate terms and language to describe the scale and scope of the Palestinian refugee crisis in Rafah, caused by Israel’s genocidal campaign. They are not “hundreds of thousands of people” in Rafah, but 1.5 million Palestinians. This is close to 5 times Rafah’s population before October 7."

The National's segment on the PRCS does not provide sufficient skepticism of Israeli viewpoint

"If you’re trying to please all the different voices that have opinions on this conflict, your report struck the perfect tone.  If you’re trying to do good journalism, you have fallen far short."

Thanks for demonstrating the incongruent actions of Western countries in response to Israel’s brutal military assault on Gaza

"Thank you again for naming what many Canadians who have been protesting in the streets since October 7 know to be true. The humanitarian catastrophe that has emerged in the Gaza Strip is an Israeli made disaster. There is no time left for negotiation, charades or indecisiveness on the part of Western leaders such as President Biden. For the Palestinians, every moment and every meal counts and they are counting on us!"
