RE: Netanyahu’s game
"Many experts have indicated that it would make no strategic sense for Hezbollah to launch an attack on the Golan Heights. Since 1967, the Syrian Golan Heights have been occupied by Israel. Hezbollah is an ally of Assad."

"It should be clear that not all the Israelis were killed by Hamas given the use of the “Hannibal Directive” on October 7, as recently exposed by Haaretz on July 7th.The Hannibal Directive was ordered across the Gaza Division network, stating, "Not a single vehicle can return to Gaza." This directive was understood by the military to mean that extreme measures would be taken, even at the expense of the lives of kidnapped individuals."

"This armchair analysis and presumption of a lack of protest against the ongoing “carnage” in Gaza is ultimately decontextualized from the actual reality on the ground."

"The Hill Times published an excellent Op-Ed that provides a balanced report on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. It effectively highlights the ongoing silencing and intimidation of Palestinian and pro-Palestinian voices and bravely sheds much-needed light on the stark contrast between Canada’s historical stance against apartheid in South Africa and its current silence regarding Israel’s war in Gaza."

Housefather’s tweet, including the picture of the poster you link, reads: “My family has been there since the 19th century, and we have indeed helped build this country. I am not going anywhere. Sorry antisemites. You may not like what I have to say but I will keep saying it and I will keep being a proud Jew and a Zionist.”

"I felt that Mr. Cnockaert’s article on unfinished Parliamentary business (“Foreign interference bill passes, but online harms and citizenship bills left on hold until House comes back”) gave a very one-sided perspective of the Online Harms Act, Bill C-63. By choosing to interview only Shimon Fogel, CEO of the pro-Israel Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) about the bill, the article falsely suggested the bill was an open-and-shut case of 'good law' vs. 'evil Internet content.'"

"Mr. Moss’s interview with South African High Commissioner to Canada Rieaz Shaik highlights the staunchly pro-Israel and unfair response to ICC warrant applications on Netanyahu by Canadian officials, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mélanie Joly. Shaik is right to believe that there is no false equivalency argument to be made by state officials in regards to Israel’s genocidal actions in Gaza and that there is no right of any state to exceptionalism, including Israel, when it comes to respecting international law."

"Criticism of the Israeli government also costs many of those individuals in terms of their professional and political lives and roles. A fear of speaking out silences those voices within government settings, academic institutions and other public institutions."
Re: "Hamas wants to annihilate Israel: Alan Williams"
It is easy for the world to forget that the enmity between Israelis and Palestinians did not start on Oct. 7, 2023. Long prior to the Oct. 7 attack, among other warnings, Human rights organizations including Amnesty International (in 2022) and Human Rights Watch (in 2021) had issued detailed reports on how Israel had been imposing a situation of Apartheid on the Palestinians for decades.
Read moreThank You for unbiased op-ed about Israel's massacre of Palestinians in Rafah
I have no words to explain how I feel about what happened in Rafah. Within the tents, Palestinians were literally reduced to ashes. Among the survivors, displaced Palestinians were forced to look through the debris using their bare hands to search for the deceased and injured. In light of this, I thank you for accurately depicting the events of May 26.
