CJPME Media Analyst published op-ed in the Montreal Gazette
On August 21, 2026, CJPME media analyst Anthony Issa published Opinion: As a Lebanese-Montrealer, Projet Montréal’s motion on Israel is a local matter for me in the Montreal Gazette, a major english newspaper in the city. It was published ahead of Montreal City Council’s August 24 vote on a Projet Montréal's motion for the city to cut ties with Israel.
This op-ed challenges the framing of Palestine as a distant international issue, making the case that Montreal’s elected officials have a responsibility to respond to issues that directly affect their communities.
