On March 18, 2025, CJPME media analyst Anthony Issa published Your Definitive Palestine Media Toolkit in the Link Newspaper, an advocacy-based outlet in Montreal.

This article provides a critical resource for young journalists, outlining the most common biases in Canadian media’s coverage of Palestine, including the exclusion of Palestinian voices, misleading language that obscures Israeli state violence, and the erasure of key historical and legal contexts.

The publication of this piece reflects the ongoing work of CJPME’s Media Accountability Project (MAP) in challenging media misrepresentation and advocating for responsible journalism on Palestine. It also highlights the importance of ensuring that young journalists have the tools to recognize and push back against systemic bias.

I also appreciated that you reported on the main reason for the protest – that the invited guests were members of the Israeli military, which has been accused of committing war crimes and of massacring 30,000 Palestinians in Gaza.

As expected, I saw the attack on The Link for its article by “(Dis)honest Reporting Canada” last week. Ultimately, their aim is to silence Palestinians and their narratives, and whitewash Israel’s human rights abuses. Their attack on you is testament to the fact that you provided comprehensive, personal and candid reporting. Again, thank you.
