Glarring omission of context in radio broadcast

"The accusation of alleged Hamas members in UNRWA has been proven baseless months ago. According to UNRWA themselves, they have not received any specific allegations regarding systemic diversion of aid in Gaza by Hamas or other armed groups. Should it be revealed to be the case, UNRWA has stated it would strongly condemn any diversion of humanitarian supplies. UNRWA's distribution of aid is implemented through a robust system of oversight and checks, ensuring the safety and appropriate use of the aid."

Why is AP refusing to use the word Palestine in their reporting?

Refusing to acknowledge Palestine and its people not only perpetuates historical inaccuracies but also undermines the rights and aspirations of millions of Palestinians. It is imperative that the media recognize Palestine as a legitimate entity, acknowledging the diverse heritage and identity of the Palestinian people.

Considering CBC’s primary source was the Reuters article, there was additional, available information that could have contextualized the “threats and coercion” to which you initially refer. Opting for this vague language rather than the more explicit one may have been a form of self-censorship to muffle Israel’s unethical behaviour.
