Please continue to amplify Palestinian and pro-Palestinian voices with your readers, especially at a time where coverage on Palestine has considerably decreased since the so-called ceasefire was announced on October 10, 2025.  

Israel has been deliberately killing the voices of truth - the brave journalists on the ground documenting its massacres - from the assassination of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh in May 2022, who was shot by the Israeli forces while covering an Israeli military raid on the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, to Israel’s deliberate assassination of Al-Manar correspondent Ali Shoaib in an Israeli airstrike in Jezzine, southern Lebanon, in which Al-Mayadeen correspondent Fatima Ftouni was also killed.

Most problematic is the lack of any attempt to contextualize why there might be discomfort for Israel supporters on campus, if the alleged polling is true. The article entirely omits Israel's appalling violence over the last two and half years, deemed a genocide by international experts, human rights organizations including those inside Israel.  

Additionally, these latest warnings from Israel about an existential threat are the same ones that Israel has laundered for over 30 years. Time and again they have been proven wrong.

The IHRA working definition of antisemitism is highly problematic because it conflates criticism of Israel with antisemitism. More than 100 Israeli and international civil society groups warn that the IHRA definition could curb work of UN bodies and have urged the UN to reject the definition because it is being “misused” to protect Israel from legitimate criticism.

Conflating a pro-Palestinian protest chant with antisemitism is neither fair nor accurate; it rests on an exaggerated interpretation presented as fact. This is not fair or balanced journalism.

"In fact, conflating legitimate criticism of Israel—an apartheid state and occupying power currently waging an ongoing genocide against Palestinians in the occupied Gaza Strip—with antisemitism is itself a form of antisemitism, as it erases the distinction between a political ideology and Jewish identity."

I believe the authors could have further benefited from deeper contextualization of the lived experience of Palestinians, particularly in relation to the enduring impacts of colonialism and apartheid. The history of the Nakba, the ongoing displacement of Palestinians, and the structural inequalities perpetuated by Israeli policies are essential to understanding the roots and persistence of this long conflict.
