"Your article fails to articulate the actual difficulties regularly faced by Palestinian Americans in entering Israel or occupied Palestine. There are no Palestinian voices and the article suffers as a result."

It is insufficient to state that the Palestinians “seek” to establish an independent state in the West Bank; this is occupied land which they “claim” as an integral part of any future state.

This statement downplays and misrepresents the rule of law and consensus among the international community which recognizes the establishment of Jewish-Israeli settlements as a violation of international law.

By failing to properly contextualize this issue, your reporting fails to explain the consequences of Israel’s military occupation of East Jerusalem. As such, readers are left without a proper understanding of why Israel’s flag march demonstrates triumphalism and domination over an occupied population, why ‘tensions’ therefore arise, and why Palestinians view the march as a provocation.

"Palestinians continue to suffer from the settler-colonial and apartheid policies practiced by Israel. Palestinians in the occupied territories continue to endure ongoing ethnic cleansing through the forced expulsion in Sheikh Jarrah and Masafer Yatta, home demolitions in East Jerusalem, and daily military raids and violence. Israel also restricts Palestinian access to water, electricity, freedom of movement, healthcare, and family reunification. Moreover, Palestinians are subjected to racist and discriminatory laws that are preferential to Israeli Jews, creating a system of apartheid, as confirmed by international organizations including Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, UN experts, and Israeli and Palestinian NGOs."
