Dear Ms. Goldhar and Mr. Galloway,

I’m writing to you on behalf of Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME, https://www.cjpme.org) to thank you for the coverage in an interview with Ronen Bergman during CBC The Current, which aired on July 26, 2023.

I appreciate that you included a question about what the Israeli judicial reforms mean for Palestinians. Palestinian perspectives are important to include in stories about these reforms. This is something my organization has repeatedly asked CBC to do, specifically in the context of judicial reform. I especially appreciated that you included how the reforms will make life harder for Palestinians. While I wish your guest would have said more, as he only scratched the surface, this information gives your listeners the context needed to fully understand the consequences of the judicial reforms. Nonetheless, his comments did highlight the grave stakes at play for Palestinians.

I believe it would be useful to interview a Palestinian about these reforms and their impacts on Palestinians in the West Bank as well as Palestinian citizens of Israel. To my knowledge, the CBC is yet to do so.
