I am deeply disturbed by your recent op-ed: "Pride weekend anti-Semitism a shocking display." You write that antisemitism crossed a line the night before the pride parade at a gala hosted by the Rainbow Resource Centre. It seems that, for you, raising money for Palestine and bringing a Palestinian flag onto the stage crosses into antisemitic territory. You include and, thus, seemingly endorse, a quote provided by an audience member equating the crowd cheering the person holding the Palestinian flag to a "Hitler rally." Near the end of your article, you ask readers a rhetorical question: "So what if Jews are trapped in a ballroom that sounds like a Hitler rally?"

Holding a Palestinian flag and cheering against Israel's apartheid state does not make you a Nazi. Drawing these types of parallels and demonizing solidarity with Palestine is a clear case of anti-Palestinian racism. 

Further, labeling opposition to Israel's genocide and apartheid as antisemitic implies that Jews against Israel's genocide and apartheid are self-hating Jews, which is unequivocally antisemitic. If you've deemed the critique of Israel's crimes of ethnic supremacy and apartheid as antisemitic, then you've fostered an association between the crimes of Israel and all Jews. Even according to the IHRA's deeply problematic conceptualization of antisemitic- which you've cited- your bigoted claims manage to be both anti-Palestinian and antisemitic. 

From a journalistic point of view, this type of bigotry should be deemed unpublishable by outlets like the Winnipeg Sun.
