Hezbollah issued a rare denial. Many experts have indicated that it would make no strategic sense for Hezbollah to launch an attack on the Golan Heights. Since 1967, the Syrian Golan Heights have been occupied by Israel. Hezbollah is an ally of Assad. Several eyewitnesses have even claimed that they saw the Iron Dome misfire and cause the destruction. Associated Press has not been able to verify who was responsible. The spread of misinformation by Israel — such as the lie that Hamas beheaded 40 babies — is common practice to justify its war crimes and journalists must be cautious.
