"Already back in November the BBC filmed Israeli construction in the buffer zone. Now we see that Netanyahu has ordered the military to remain in Mt. Hermon and announced 40 million shekels to increase the settler population in the occupied Golan Heights."

On Friday, anchor Chris Glover reported Israeli troop activity in a buffer zone east of the annexed Golan Heights in Syria. He cited the UN’s characterization of the move as a violation of the 1974 peace agreement, but he also repeated Israel’s claims that the troop deployment is “temporary and defensive.”
Israel’s assurance strained credibility. Its ongoing occupation of Palestinian territory in the West Bank and Gaza, and its annexation of the Golan Heights gave credence to the accusation by Egypt’s foreign ministry that Israel is "exploiting the power vacuum… to occupy more Syrian territories and create a fait accompli in violation of international law". France, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Qatar and Turkey were among the countries protested Israel’s incursion as a breach of international law.
Already back in November the BBC filmed Israeli construction in the buffer zone. Now we see that Netanyahu has ordered the military to remain in Mt. Hermon and announced 40 million shekels to increase the settler population in the occupied Golan Heights.
My point is that given Israel’s record of land grabs and illegal occupation, its racial apartheid system, and genocide against Palestinians, thoroughly documented by the world’s leading bodies for human rights and international law (Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, ICC, and ICJ,), the CBC should not simply parrot Israeli talking points at face value and become part of Israel’s propaganda machine.
Sincerely,
