The National Post published an article from the Jewish News Syndicate wire service rife with propaganda that whitewashes Israel’s genocidal campaign in the occupied Gaza Strip and West Bank.

The National Post published an article from the Jewish News Syndicate wire service rife with propaganda that whitewashes Israel’s genocidal campaign in the occupied Gaza Strip and West Bank. 

  • The article headline reads: "Israel Defense Forces told to prepare plan for Palestinians to voluntarily leave Gaza". Human Rights Watch explicitly stated in its February 5, 2025, report that Trump’s intent behind the "voluntary migration" of Palestinians is to “escalate ethnic cleansing in Gaza." This is because the permanent forced displacement of a population in an occupied territory is prohibited under international humanitarian law and amounts to committing a war crime. 
  • The article uncritically parrots Trump’s call for the "relocation" of Palestinians “so that the enclave could be rebuilt,” glaringly omitting crucial context. The occupied Gaza Strip is in ruins because Israel has been waging what Amnesty International describes as genocide, with the specific intent to destroy Palestinians in Gaza—committing three out of the five prohibited acts under the Genocide Convention, including killing members of the group, causing serious bodily or mental harm, and deliberately inflicting conditions in Gaza designed to bring about their physical destruction, in whole or in part.
  • The article serves as a mouthpiece for Israeli propaganda, amplifying the voices of Israeli and American officials while completely excluding Palestinian perspectives or the views of other Arab nations like Iran, Turkey, and Jordan which have objected publicly Trump’s plans to seize control of the occupied Gaza Strip.
