"To make matters worse, you fail to mention that his arrest was the result of a legal action by Dahlia Kurtz, a pro-Israel activist who has explicitly promoted genocide and made numerous blatant racist remarks about Palestinians."

Dear Harry North and Marilena Lucci,
I was disappointed to read your recent article about the release of Yves Engler.
I write to you wearing two hats. I am writing to express concern not only on behalf of Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME), but I also previously worked for Black Rose Books and helped publish and promote some of Yves Engler's books.
A prolific writer, Engler is a well-respected historian of Canadian foreign policy. Rather than make mention of his 13 books or countless articles, your article focuses merely on his being a provocateur. This is deeply unfair.
To make matters worse, you fail to mention that his arrest was the result of a legal action by Dahlia Kurtz, a pro-Israel activist who has explicitly promoted genocide and made numerous blatant racist remarks about Palestinians. As one example, CJPME filed a formal complaint about racist and false remarks made by Kurtz on a radio show called The Drive. The CBSC sided with CJPME and the radio show was forced to apologize for her comments. Further, I made a thread on X with a small sample of her genocidal and racist remarks. I invite you to review it here.
While the Montreal Gazette or Post Media may view Yves Engler as a controversial figure, he nonetheless still deserves fair and honest coverage. Your reporting thus far falls short of the standards to which you are expected to respect.
Please let me know how the Montreal Gazette plans on resolving these glaring issues.
Regards,
Jason Toney
