Thank you for writing with such clarity about an article that incites violence against a national leader, Avi Lewis. It is interesting that the National Post’s community guidelines for comments on their articles state that commentators “who incite violence may be immediately banned”. Apparently no such standard exists for opinion pieces that they publish.

Dear Mr. Gagne,
On behalf of Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME), I am writing to express appreciation for the October 19 opinion piece The National Post and Postmedia must be held accountable for threats against NDP leader that was published online by NB Media Coop.

What was additionally shocking is the fact that other mainstream media platforms and outlets pretty much remained silent about Mr. Goldstein’s article. Your article is a warning as to what is at risk if silence is the response. We have a collective responsibility to take action. Thank you for reminding us.
Sincerely,
Debbie Hubbard
