All of this to say, thank you for reporting on Israel’s restrictions affecting Doctors Without Borders’ humanitarian operations in Gaza. Please continue to do so, particularly as mainstream media marginalizes Palestinian perspectives and relegates them to the end of articles.
To the CBC News newsroom,
I am writing on behalf of Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (www.cjpme.org) regarding the article published by CBC News on February 27, 2026 titled: “A Canadian helped build a water plant in Gaza. Now he worries about its fate as aid groups leave over new law.”
In a media landscape marked by efforts to erase Palestinian voices, we appreciate this CBC article by Yasmine Hassan, which reports that Israeli authorities are restricting the operations of Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in Gaza. As the article notes, this follows Israel’s March 2025 rule requiring aid organizations to submit staff details for security vetting, amid alleged concerns that some aid could reach militants.
However, MSF plays a critical role in sustaining Gaza’s health-care system, delivering over 800,000 medical consultations and supporting one in three births last year. In fact, the organization has warned that if it is expelled from occupied Gaza and the occupied West Bank, the consequences would be devastating, as Palestinians face a harsh winter amid widespread destruction following two years of Israel’s ongoing genocide.
All of this to say, thank you for reporting on Israel’s restrictions affecting Doctors Without Borders’ humanitarian operations in Gaza. Please continue to do so, particularly as mainstream media marginalizes Palestinian perspectives and relegates them to the end of articles.
