Letter of concern for a recent article by Dave Gordon

As an exigent Voice, Dave Gordon is speaking about issues directly related to Exigent’s advocacy and Israel’s interests. This breaks a fundamental journalistic standard of impartiality. To the National Post and The Province Newsroom,

I am writing to you on behalf of Canadians for Justice and Peace for the Middle East to express our concerns regarding an article by Dave Gordon titled "Researchers blame DEI for fast decline in Canadian goodwill for Jews, Israel" on July 20, 2026. The article is pointing at the fact that DEI policies in Canada have lacked considering other aspects than race. However, we would like to draw your attention to the author of the article.

Dave Gordon is a Canadian journalist known for his pro-Israeli bias. He is an Exigent Fellow Witness, a pro-Israeli advocacy group funded by the Israeli Foreign Ministry that pays its figure to free trips to Israel. This constitutes a material conflict as a journalist who could be funded and trained by a foreign state cannot be surely impartial when it comes to his reporting.

As an exigent Voice, Dave Gordon is speaking about issues directly related to Exigent’s advocacy and Israel’s interests. This breaks a fundamental journalistic standard of impartiality. Publishing his work as news and without a clear disclosure constitutes a violation of the CAJ's guidelines regarding independence

We insist on your necessity to clarify the publication of his works with a clear disclosure for his current and future articles.

Sincerely,

Volunteer Media Analyst
