I encourage CBC to continue to include Palestinian perspectives - beyond just citing Gaza Ministry of Health’s statistics - given that Palestinian voices, perspectives and issues are often sidelined in Canadian mainstream media.
To the CBC News,
I’m writing on behalf of Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME, https://www.cjpme.org) to express appreciation about the article “In search for senior Hamas operative, Israeli raid on Gaza City camp kills 3 children” published yesterday.
Both the outlet and journalist deserve thanks for balanced and thoughtful reporting, which gives space to Palestinians Abu Al Abd, who is living in the camp who had been getting water with his children at the time of the raid, and to Faiza al-Bahtini, whose nephew was among the children killed on Tuesday. The article also highlights comments from Hamas who called Tuesday's attack an "extension of the brutal genocide against Palestinians that has continued despite the ceasefire", along with providing information from Israel’s defence minister, and a security official.
I encourage CBC to continue to include Palestinian perspectives - beyond just citing Gaza Ministry of Health’s statistics - given that Palestinian voices, perspectives and issues are often sidelined in Canadian mainstream media.
Sincerely,
Alison Jenkins
