Please help us challenge this inflammatory Edmonton Journal cartoon by Malcolm Mayes that misrepresents pro-Palestine protests and further incites anti-Palestinian hate.

  • The cartoon depicts pro-Palestine protests as genocidal and antisemitic, a common trope in the media, which is inaccurate and downright defamatory.
  • The cartoon suggests that Palestinians or their supporters hate Jewish people. This is a racist trope and is especially offensive to Jewish supporters of Palestinian human rights.
  • The cartoon only depicts students, professors, universities, and academia as protesters, downplaying the notable diversity of the protests.
  • The cartoon depicts the pro-Palestinian protests as pro-Hamas, which is then again how the media has been falsely covering these protests.
  • The cartoon distorts the actual negative repercussions that students and professors have faced for supporting Palestine.
