Challenge Ottawa Sun bait and switch article

The piece is supposed to be about a letter sent by the Health Workers Alliance for Palestine demanding a ceasefire and an immediate end to the targeting of healthcare facilities and workers. However, Papuckoski instead uses the opportunity to quote random and questionable pro-Israel claims on Twitter and downplay Israel's war crimes.

Please help us challenge this one-sided article.

  • The article deflects the attention from ending the occupation of Palestine and the illegal siege of Gaza to instead focus on the contested claim that Hamas uses hospitals for military purposes.
  • It states as fact that Hamas uses health facilities, but Hamas and hospital administrators have both denied this accusation and much of Israel's evidence has been repeatedly discredited
  • The article quotes someone on Twitter blaming Hamas for the destruction of Gaza’s healthcare system despite the relentless Israeli bombing and ground invasion that has decimated Gaza's healthcare system.
  • The article quotes someone on Twitter making the unproven claim that Hamas uses Palestinian patients as human shields. This is irresponsible and lazy journalism. In fact, the opposite has been proven, that Israel has used Palestinians as human shields.
