The article is about as bad as it gets, promoting a view of the world that is conspiratorial, hate-filled, and a veritable fever dream. It is unbelievable that Lethbridge Herald would even call this an “opinion” article, it would be better categorized as fiction.

Please join us in challenging the publication of this atrociously biased and fallacious op-ed in the Lethbridge Herald.
The article is about as bad as it gets, promoting a view of the world that is conspiratorial, hate-filled, and a veritable fever dream. It is unbelievable that Lethbridge Herald would even call this an “opinion” article, it would be better categorized as fiction.
- The article is based on a false premise, captured by the nonsense headline. The author repeatedly claims that university students in Canada are supporting Hamas by flying Palestinian flags, protesting for Palestinian human rights, and other such activities.
- The article claims that George Floyd’s murder was an “unintentional death” and that Black Lives Matter is an antisemitic organization. Both of these claims are ludicrous and offensive.
- The author claims that Palestinians “have always been classified as white” in an apparent effort to argue that they were only recently viewed as non-white in order to mobilize people of color against Israel. It is an argument so absurd it is hard to follow, but it is not based on reality.
- The author inexhaustibly tries to fit in every right-wing buzzword or phrase, such that the argument stops making sense at points. With that in mind, the intention of the piece appears to serve one purpose: to promote hateful attitudes toward Palestinians and their supporters.
