It is refreshing to see a well-written op-ed covering Islamophobia. So much coverage has focused on the mounting concerns around antisemitism, but rarely have recent articles meaningfully tackled Islamophobia.
Good coverage - Media outlet to be thanked

Please help us thank Globe and Mail for publishing Sheema Khan's thorough and balanced op-ed about Islamophobia and the fears Muslim Canadians are facing in response to the ongoing situation in Palestine-Israel.
It is refreshing to see a well-written op-ed covering Islamophobia. So much coverage has focused on the mounting concerns around antisemitism, but rarely have recent articles meaningfully tackled Islamophobia.
- A detailed article on the reality of rising Islamophobia is a step in the right direction and should not be a one-off for Globe and Mail.
- Khan's article gives plenty of examples of Islamophobic incidents here in Canada, many of which could serve as the basis of future articles.
- By mentioning the recent Senate report: “Islamophobia is rooted in stereotypes and misinformation,” this op-ed sheds light on the generalization and misinformation related to media that affect Muslims and Arabs.
- Khan also sheds light on the psychological burden of Palestinians and their allies: the grief of losing relatives, the support, the reprimands, and false accusations for showing solidarity. This is an important part of humanizing Palestinians and should be more common.
