Howard Levitt showcases his racist prejudgments in his recent op-ed

Financial Post repeatedly states falsehoods to absolve Israel of its responsibility for committing genocide. Some of these falsehoods include his claim that the death toll reported by Gaza’s Ministry of Health isn’t credible; implies that attempts by Israel to avoid civilian casualties are thorough and adequate; reports that Hamas is a terrorist organization and death cult set out to kill all Jews, Christians and all people in England and the United States of America.

Howard Levitt’s recent op-ed showcases his racist prejudgments that prohibit any critical thinking vis-à-vis Israel’s genocidal actions in Gaza and Palestine more broadly. Levitt denounces the naivete of the pro-Palestine crowd for believing that “Israel bombed a Gaza hospital killing hundreds when it was a misfired Hamas missile” in October, even though, as of May 2024, no hospital in Gaza is fully functional due to incessant air raids and ground attacks. Please take the time to email Levitt and Financial Post’s editor-in-chief to criticize this type of bigoted and fictitious reporting.

  • Levitt repeatedly states falsehoods to absolve Israel of its responsibility for committing genocide.
  • Makes broad brush generalizations about systemic sexual violence on October 7 while investigations regarding this matter are ongoing and largely unconfirmed.
  • Dangerously conflates criticism of Israel with criticism of Jews, in doing so, implicates all Jews in the actions of Israel which is, in and of itself, antisemitic.
  • While the subtitle reads “Opinion: Israel being demonized for its response while Hamas’ atrocities are ignored,” the op-ed is nonetheless listed under Financial Post’s “Work” tag. FP Work, according to their website, touches on HR strategy, labour economics, office culture, technology, and more. The article’s tag should be labelled “FP Comment,” not “Work.”
