Lambaste the Toronto Sun for publishing a racist “news” article about the suburb of Dearborn, Michigan, choosing to vote “uncommitted” in the next US presidential elections.

"The headline and the article offensively use the words of a Wall Street Journal op-ed to refer to Dearborn, a suburb of Detroit, Michigan, as 'America’s Jihad capital,' which is unnecessary and racist."

Please help us lambaste the Toronto Sun for publishing a racist “news” article about the suburb of Dearborn, Michigan, choosing to vote “uncommitted” in the next US presidential elections.

  • The headline and the article offensively use the words of a Wall Street Journal op-ed to refer to Dearborn, a suburb of Detroit, Michigan, as “America’s Jihad capital,” which is unnecessary and racist.
  • The headline downplays the genocide in Gaza and undermines the intentions of the call to vote “uncommitted” by using the words “Gaza fighting.”
  • The article is identified as “news” even though racist language is used in the guise of scare quotes so that Toronto Sun can distance itself from any accountability.
  • While you can also mention inaccuracy in the Israeli death toll and the use of passive language to give the Palestinian death toll, all in all, the article paints an unfair image of the largest Arab American community by generalizing unproven actions of certain individuals, and saying it is “gripped in Hamas fever.”

Since we've included the email for submitting letters to the editor, you may consider writing your letter such that it could be published in the letters section. Toronto Sun asks for letters of 250 words or less.
