"The prime minister continues to assert that Canada will always remain a “steadfast friend” to Israel. Maybe then, the Prime Minister should help his “friend” to become a responsible member of the international community, rather than an apartheid regime of oppression."

In her critique of the Canadian government’s lacklustre response to Israel’s ongoing expansion of illegal settlements, McQuaig shows how our government’s bark seems to be far louder than its bite when it comes to holding Israel to account.
While our Prime Minister chooses to back up his words of support for Ukraine with billions of dollars in aid, showing that in fact Canada has the backbone to stand in support of what is right, he unfortunately also has a double standard when it comes to Israel, paying the Palestinians lip service while taking no actionable measures to censure Israel for its ongoing contravention of pretty much every resolution passed against it.
The prime minister continues to assert that Canada will always remain a “steadfast friend” to Israel. Maybe then, the Prime Minister should help his “friend” to become a responsible member of the international community, rather than an apartheid regime of oppression.
