Thanks for offering a range of perspectives on the genocide in Gaza

April 3, 2024

Dear Ms. Mulligan and Ms. Duggan,

I am writing on behalf of Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME) to thank you for the Challenges and dangers of getting aid to Gaza interview with Iftikhar Ahmed that was posted online on April 3, 2024.

Ms. Ahmed’s description of how the movement and activity of aid organizations in Gaza is controlled and monitored by Israel totally discredited the weak and misleading explanation by PM Netanyahu that this was a ‘tragic mistake’. Thank you for helping Canadians understand that it was in fact a ‘deliberate attack’.

I also appreciated that Ms. Iftikhar had an opportunity to name the hypocrisy of Canada calling for an investigation into Israeli air strikes when there is the death of a Canadian citizen. All lives should matter to our government when there are aid workers killed, regardless of their citizenship and ethnicity.

Please continue to publish interviews and articles that offer a range of perspectives on what has become a humanitarian crisis in Gaza. This time in history will be a black mark on the international community when we look back in the years to come.

Sincerely,

Debbie Hubbard
