"Failing to do so falsely portrays Palestinian suffering as occurring in a vacuum, rather than as the genocidal result of Israel’s ongoing bombing of its so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation scheme that was designed to further humiliate Palestinians of their inherent right as human beings to food, medicine, and other essential needs of life."

To the CBC News and Reuters team,
I am writing on behalf of Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (www.cjpme.org) regarding the recent Reuters article published by CBC News on July 11, 2025, titled: “UN reports nearly 800 deaths near Gaza aid hubs, humanitarian convoys in last 6 weeks.”
The headline fails to mention that it is Israel, the occupying power, that is directly responsible for the deaths of approximately 800 Palestinians near the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation sites.
Reports confirm that the Israeli occupation forces and U.S. mercenaries have been deliberately shooting at unarmed Palestinians. The reality is that Israel has not only manufactured a famine but is transforming aid distribution into deadly traps for Palestinians.
Beyond the headline, the article itself never clearly assigns responsibility to Israel. We do, instead, hear of Israel’s many denials of alleged war crimes.
In the name of accurate and fair reporting, I urge you to revise your headline and article to explicitly attribute responsibility to Israel for the killing of Palestinians. Failing to do so falsely portrays Palestinian suffering as occurring in a vacuum, rather than as the genocidal result of Israel’s ongoing bombing of its so-called Gaza Humanitarian Foundation scheme that was designed to further humiliate Palestinians of their inherent right as human beings to food, medicine, and other essential needs of life.
