Unnecessary headline & photo serve as Israeli propaganda.

You have provided a platform for the arrogant racist and genocide supporter, Adam Edelman. This despite the fact that his bobsled came in absolutely last. Most news outlets cover the winners and the runner up, not the last place losers. Not only that, but the photo and caption attempt to deceive Canadians by bathing Edelman in a positive light as someone who could inspire children.

To the Toronto Star,

I am writing on behalf of Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME) about your photo with the headline “ISRAEL’S FIRST RUN” published on February 17, 2026.

It is a troubling choice the Star has made to give a disproportionate sized headline and photo to a non-story. In fact there is no story, only a photo caption.

All this conveniently sidesteps the fact that Israel has killed or maimed over 64,000 Palestinian children. An absolutely appalling cruelty which Edelman fully supports.

Does the Star consider those children and their Olympic dreams of any value?

If so, I hope you issue an immediate apology for this unnecessary headline and photo that can only serve as Israeli propaganda.

Thank you for reading and I look forward to your response.
