I'm writing on behalf of Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME, https://www.cjpme.org) to express our concerns regarding your article "Ed Sheeran breaks silence on Macklemore's tour exit: 'I am not complicit,'" published September 15, 2026.
First, the headline leads with Mr. Sheeran's claim that he is "not complicit," but the article never examines it. By his own account, he negotiated with the venues and promoters, and the tour continued without Macklemore. Giving a self-defence top billing without scrutiny steers readers toward that framing.
We ask that future headlines not feature a party's defence of its own conduct without examining it against the reported facts.
Second, the article says Macklemore "alleged" that Robert Kraft barred him from his stadium, and that Mr. Kraft's representatives had not responded. Mr. Kraft had publicly confirmed the decision the day before the article was published.
We ask that the article be updated to reflect Mr. Kraft's public confirmation.
Third, the article reports that Macklemore faced "backlash." It cites only a petition from the Israeli-American Council, without identifying the council as a apro-Israel advocacy group. It omits the significant public support Macklemore received from lawmakers, public figures and fellow artists. It also describes Hind's Hall without noting that the song is named for Hind Rajab, a Palestinian child killed in Gaza.
We expect future coverage to reflect the full range of public response and the Palestinian context behind the story.
