Please help us challenge this one-sided and incomplete article about the pro-Palestinian protest outside Calgary Hall on November 5, 2023 and the arrest of Wesam Cooley, who chanted, “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”
- The article completely omits what Cooley chanted, only mentioning an "antisemitic phrase."
- The article focuses too much on Wesam Cooley’s arrest and its rarity while completely failing to describe the peaceful protests.
- The article mentions the Calgary Police Service’s (CPS) perspective and quotes the Calgary Jewish Federation, but fails to acknowledge that this incident is a way to silence legitimate protest, demonize Palestinian voices, and encourage anti-Palestinian racism.
- The article fails to provide a Palestinian perspective of the chant.
- The article fails to give voice to Wesam Cooley and the protesters who were there that day, making it highly one-sided.
