Please help us challenge Ottawa Citizen for its double standard when covering pro-Israel and pro-Palestine protests around the country.
- Ottawa Citizen did not cover the November 25 pro-Palestine protest on Parliament Hill, the biggest pro-Palestine rally that gathered 100 000 people.
- Contrarily, it published two articles about the smaller December 4 pro-Israel rally. This is a clear bias since these protests hold similar significance for both groups.
- The article doesn’t mention anything about Israel’s bombardment campaign since October 7: the number of Palestinians killed, and the damages it inflicted on Gaza. This piece of context is necessary to give a full picture of the situation and understand the protests on both sides. In their coverage of pro-Palestine rallies, they always mention Israeli casualties.
Since we've included the email for submitting letters to the editor, you may consider writing your letter such that it could be published in the letters section. Ottawa Citizen asks for letters of 250 words or less.
