The anchor falsely claimed that Hamas was responsible for breaking the recent humanitarian truce. The reality, as widely reported by mainstream media outlets, is that within minutes of the truce expiring, Israel resumed its massive bombardment of Gaza.

(Note: Please do not copy and paste the material below as the content to your message to the media - put all comments in your own words):
Please join us in challenging the line of questioning used by a CP24 news anchor during his breaking news interview with Bob Rae, Canadian Ambassador to the United Nations.
- The journalist only raised criticisms of Canada’s decision to vote in favour of a ceasefire at the UN. He totally omits any reference to the popular support in Canada for a ceasefire.
- The journalist’s questioning uses the exact language of talking points from Israeli diplomats and the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA), a lobby group in Canada. Sometimes, the journalist uses the verbatim language of pro-Israel lobbyists in his questions.
- The anchor falsely claimed that Hamas was responsible for breaking the recent humanitarian truce. The reality, as widely reported by mainstream media outlets, is that within minutes of the truce expiring, Israel resumed its massive bombardment of Gaza.
- The segment represented a highly one-sided line of questioning. To remedy the violation, CP24 should give a pro-Palestinian voice the right to reply in a forthcoming segment to restore some balance.
