This militarist opinion piece by Terry Newman defames anti-war protesters and whitewashes Israel’s illegal military strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

• Newman presents Israel’s attacks as "preemptive" and necessary, ignoring that the IAEA and multiple UN resolutions have clearly stated that military attacks on nuclear facilities are violations of international law. There is no mention of the grave risks these strikes pose to nuclear safety and civilian populations.
• The article also falsely contrasts Israel’s “precision” with Iran’s “indiscriminate” retaliation, while ignoring Israel’s 20 month long genocidal assault against all Palestinians, where over 60,000 have been killed, most of whom are civilians.
• Newman weaponizes feminist language to attack Iran’s domestic policies to justify why Canadian support for Israeli military aggression. She also smears anyone protesting Israeli airstrikes or advocating for peace as antisemitic, as supporter of Iran’s regime or as terrorist sympathizers. Her smear is designed to dehumanize protesters and Iranian communities within Canada and abroad.
