Re: "Happy 75th Israel!"
"Obadia asserts that Palestinian citizens of Israel have “the same inalienable rights as Jews.” In fact, Israel does not have a constitution, and instead operates on a number of “basic laws.” The absence of a constitution allows Israel to employ laws that are preferential to Israeli Jews and discriminatory towards Palestinian citizens of Israel, who are restricted in every aspect of life - immigration, employment, housing, healthcare, and family reunification."

No mention of Nakba, occupation or apartheid in article about Israel's Memorial day
"This framing presents Israel as a beleaguered country which has faced waves of violence, but fails to capture the extent to which Israel has been the aggressor power in the region. In particular, it does not mention that for the last 56-years Israel has been a belligerent occupying power over the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967 (the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza), as well as the occupied Syrian Golan Heights."

Inadequate context and unbalanced coverage in news segment about Palestinian casualty
"Unless the CBC considers injuries to five Israelis more important than the killing of one Palestinian, this omission is inexcusable. You should have also mentioned that Israel has maintained a brutal military occupation over Palestinians for 56 years. Such context is essential for listeners to understand that Palestinian violence is a direct result of raids, arrests, and violence by Israeli forces, not to mention destructive and violent rampages by illegal Israeli settlers."

Problematic and misleading language used to describe the 1948 Nakba
"To refer to the 1948 Nakba (catastrophe in Arabic) as a “Palestinian exodus” overlooks the fact that approximately 750,000 to 1 million Palestinians were expelled from their homes by Zionist militias and made refugees. Many are still refugees today, along with their families. They were forced to make a life for themselves elsewhere in the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, and in Mr. Najjar’s case, Jordan."

False claim that Al-Aqsa Mosque is located in "Israel" by CP24
"Your news segment incorrectly refers to the prayers as taking place in 'Israel' when they are in occupied East Jerusalem, which is considered occupied Palestinian territory according to international law. This is not an opinion but a matter of settled consensus at the international level as confirmed by the United Nations Security Council, the International Criminal Court, the International Court of Justice, and the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention. The official Canadian position, likewise, does not recognize Israeli control over East Jerusalem (including the old city and the Al Aqsa mosque.)"

Thanks for including segment on pro-Palestinian rally against Israeli violence
"Your interview with the rally organizer and activist Riyaz Khawaja was excellent. Often enough, Palestinian, and pro-Palestinian perspectives are silenced or deliberately left out of Canadian public discourse, especially when they challenge established power structures. Palestinians are engaged in a decades-long struggle for their liberation and human rights, and the media must be sure to include their narratives."

Thanks for highlighting Palestinian singer Elyanna and her pride in Palestinian art and culture
"I appreciate that your coverage included an interview with Elyanna, quoting her pride to perform in Arabic, her inspiration in Palestinian poetry and the donning of the keffiyeh. I am also especially happy that you include Palestinian voices such as Masa Qzaih and Sam Agha. Palestinian arts, culture, and voices are frequently excluded from Canadian public discourse and media."

Re: "Shooting down missiles, squeezing water from nothing: Why Israel is the innovation nation"
"While Israel may replenish aquifers or move water around a complex system of canals, pipes and reservoirs, it does so while systematically denying Palestinian people the right to water while favouring the swimming pools of illegal Israeli settlers. Israel’s water management is more notable for its racist allocation of water, than its innovation."

Failure to note that Al-Aqsa Mosque is located in occupied East Jerusalem
"However, you mention that the Al-Aqsa mosque sits on a “contested hilltop” revered as the third-holiest site in Islam and the holiest site in Judaism. This characterization fails to note that Al-Aqsa mosque is located in East Jerusalem which is an occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) under international law. This is not an opinion but a matter of a settled consensus at the international level, as confirmed by the United Nations General Assembly, the International Criminal Court, the International Court of Justice, and the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention."
