"Your report was inaccurate and misleading. You fail to mention that at least one Palestinian was killed, four others were badly wounded, and around 100 were injured in the settler attack. Given that you mention the killing of two Israelis, it is not only fair, but necessary to mention the Palestinians killed or injured. This is an alarming omission and violates the Canadian Association of Broadcasters’ Code of Ethics. I am prepared to make a formal complaint."

Dear Ms. Mediwake, Ms. Deluce, and Ms. Crespi,
I’m writing on behalf of Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME, https://www.cjpme.org) to express serious concern regarding your February 27 segment on the Israeli settler raid of Huwara and to insist on an on-air correction.
Here is a transcript of the segment in question:
“This move comes after a Palestinian gunmen killed two Israeli brothers and settlers rampaged through a Palestinian town. Settlers torched homes and cars yesterday in the worst violence in decades.”
Your report was inaccurate and misleading. You fail to mention that at least one Palestinian was killed, four others were badly wounded, and around 100 were injured in the settler attack.[1] Given that you mention the killing of two Israelis, it is not only fair, but necessary to mention the Palestinians killed or injured. This is an alarming omission and violates the Canadian Association of Broadcasters’ Code of Ethics.[2] I am prepared to make a formal complaint.
I expect an on-air correction to be made to remedy this situation.
Please contact me if you would like to discuss this matter further at 438-380-5410.
Respectfully,
Jason Toney
