I’m writing to you on behalf of Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME, https://www.cjpme.org) to express my appreciation regarding a segment of The Current with Matt Galloway aired by CBC Radio One CBT (Gander, NL) on March 28, 2023.
I was especially pleased to hear that the guest Michael Koplow of the Israel Policy Forum addressed how Palestinian citizens are impacted by policies pursued by the current right-wing Israeli government. I am appreciative that attention was brought towards the racist and inflammatory comments made by Minister Bezalel Smotrich about Palestinians but also the forced expulsions, and settlement activity ongoing in the occupied West Bank.
I appreciate the input that Mr. Koplow provided, he is not, of course, Palestinian. As you probably know, Palestinian perspectives are often silenced or deliberately left out of Canadian public discourse, especially in regards to political affairs that concern them. I would like to encourage you to make the effort to also involve Palestinians in your conversations in the future.
