How I wished that the ICJ had been in place 1943 and that a charge from Canada to the world court was that Nazi Germany was committing genocide against the Jewish people.
Learning tragic lessons from history the world community in 1948 supported the UN and the State of Israel and its allies in creating the ICJ so that mass killing in whole or in part of an identified group would never happen again.
I understand that there is a significant incidence of those who have been abused becoming themselves abusers.
In 1948 then and in 2024 now we in the world community cannot be allies with abusers as the ICJ verdict made clear today.
