Originally built by Israel in 1994, the tall, multi-layered fence surrounding the Strip has been widely viewed as an immobilizing measure that “brutally reinforced boundary that allows very few people in or out of the Strip.” This structure of separation should be referred to as Israel’s apartheid or separation wall.
