While the segment otherwise refers to the Occupied Palestinian Territories, it is both unusual and unfortunate that CBC would employ the fraught phrase “disputed territory” in reference to Palestinian land illegally occupied by Israel. There are a few colossal omissions in Mr. Fremeth’s argument which need highlighting. When CIFTA was signed thirty years ago Israel had not yet committed it’s sadistic  genocide against the Palestinain people, which continues to this day. For a non-Palestinian Canadian to suggest that what is happening in Palestine is ‘marvelous’ does not speak to the history or current reality of Palestinians living there.  This reality is reflected in November 2025, when Palestinian Christians, launched their document: “Kairos Palestine II: A Moment of Truth: Faith in a Time of Genocide”.   Continue reading
