Re: It can be healthy to debate Israel and Palestine but on the ground little will change
Serious debate from both-sides ought to be centered on how we can implement a two-way arms embargo and prevent further bloodshed by ending direct sales, closing these legal loopholes, and cutting ties with the war machine that is Israel’s defense technology.

Alarming social media conduct by Global News journalist Joel Gotlib
Joel Gotlib has repeatedly published and shared explicitly pro-Israel content on his social media pages. To be clear, this is not even run-of-the-mill pro-Israel content, much of it contains blatant anti-Palestinian racism. At the end of this letter is an appendix with some posts Gotlib made. In the section at the end of the letter, I do not include countless profoundly anti-Palestinian, racist posts that Gotlib shared from other accounts spreading demonstrably false misinformation, like the “beheaded babies” myth. Gotlib’s posts and re-shares can be seen by Global on his X account and Instagram account.

Inaccurate claims and lack of balance in recent article on Edmonton city councillor
While the article claims “some” of Michael Janz's “recent posts” are “misinformation that could be harmful,” there is only one such post whose factual veracity is in question. It is our understanding that the post is inaccurate, but it is Global’s journalistic responsibility to explain why and make clear what is true.

Feedback regarding Lebanon-Israel framework
The framework also grants Israel the right to attack with the approval of the Lebanese government if Israel assesses there are “hostile intentions” or a risk of imminent threat approaching them. Your segment on Iran

The use of multiple layers of wholly unsubstantiated assertions is inconsistent with basic journalistic ethnics and the report should accordingly be clarified.

Letter of Thanks - Article_ Boy, 10, among at least 10 Palestinians killed in Israeli strike, gunfire in Gaza
"Coverage of these events too often relies on passive or agent-less constructions, such as '10 killed in strikes,' that leave readers unsure of who acted and who was harmed. Your headline does neither. It states plainly who carried out the strike and identifies those killed as Palestinian, giving readers an accurate starting point for understanding the story."

Thank you + article should raise skepticism around Israeli claims
Take as well the alleged sexual assault claims where Israeli officials circulated the unsubstantiated claims that Hamas fighters raped women on October 7th, which again were repeated in almost every single mainstream media headline and were uncritically echoed by President Biden who repeated them on national television.

July 13 on-air News Segment
It begs the question, could CTV not have found a neutral and credible expert to interview or did they choose Mr. Varner specifically for his known anti-Iran views, which are also Israel’s?

Article needs to specify incident amounts to anti-Palestinian racism
The attack on the visibly Muslim woman in 2024 was alarming in that it is clearly part of a growing rise in anti-Palestinian and anti-Muslim incidents since October 7, 2023. For that reason, we would have appreciated if the 2024 attack was referenced as anti-Muslim or anti-Palestinian raciism earlier in your article rather than relegating it to the very end of the article.
