Thank you for publishing reader letter on discourse about Middle East conflict

We have seen far too many politicians and journalists obscure facts and bend logic in an effort to continue their support for a genocidal apartheid state.

To the Toronto Star editors,

I am writing on behalf of Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME) about the letter by Tony D’Andrea you published in your opinion section “Language does matter on Middle East conflict published on June 22, 2026.

I would like to thank you for sharing this reader letter about the importance of language and how it can be twisted to suit a narrative that shields criminals and benefits those in power. We have seen far too many politicians and journalists obscure facts and bend logic in an effort to continue their support for a genocidal apartheid state.

We should call them out in each and every instance.

We appreciate this work very much and encourage you to keep publishing articles and letters that hold power to account and expose the lies that are shielding Israel’s crimes.

Sincerely,

Nikki Mutch
