Thank you + feedback regarding Nakba exhibit

The framing that the Nakba is a “divisive topic” is unfair. The Nakba itself is a historical fact. There is no division about the Nakba. It happened.    Continue reading

Constructive feedback regarding article on Israel-Lebanon agreement

Otherwise as is, the timeline effectively erases the past year and a half of constant bombardment from the reporting, and treats the south as though it is not part of Lebanon. Continue reading

JNS article merits immediate attention

Referring to the occupied Palestinian territories as “what the UN global body calls them” reproduces precisely a form of anti-Palestinian erasure that fails to acknowledge Palestinians as an Indigenous people with a collective identity with rights in relation to occupied and historic Palestine. It is also misleading and inaccurate and merits a correction. Continue reading

June 25 News Report from Gaza

Leading the article with the perspective of a Palestinian woman in Gaza is much appreciated and rare in our current media landscape. It is also vitally important that victims are duly honored in news reporting. It is refreshing to hear the truth spoken about the fake ceasefire that has not made a whit of difference for Palestinians. In fact, this news segment would be relevant for every day in Gaza since the fake ceasefire was announced. Continue reading

Jewish Group calls on human rights museum to reconsider ‘Nakba’ exhibit

One-sided reporting on the Nakba exhibit

While I appreciate some of the balance of this article it irresponsibly omits a Palestinian voice or perspective as the story of the Nakba demands. It also lacks a progressive and empathetic Jewish representation of which there are many - Independent Jewish Voices and Jews Say No to Genocide to name only two. Continue reading

Invocation of human rights discourse is selective

Repeatedly portraying Israel as the only democracy in the Middle East has long been used to secure continued political, military, and economic support from Western democracies by fostering a “people like us” sense of shared identity and values. Continue reading

Walk with Israel is march in support of Israel

Far from being “a celebration of community,” the event, as its title indicates, is a march in support of Israel, a country facing charges of genocide at the International Court of Justice, and whose leaders are presently evading arrest warrants from the International Criminal Court on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
