Is there really a ceasefire in Gaza?

I am concerned about the words that CBC uses in this and other reports to describe the status of the ceasefire that began on October 10. Rarely is any information provided to describe the ways in which the ceasefire has been violated since it began on October 10. Continue reading

Lack of context about hosting Israeli soldiers on campus

The Israeli army is currently carrying out a genocide in Gaza, has maintained a brutal military occupation of the Palestinian territories for decades, enforces an apartheid system that institutionalizes the ongoing dispossession, dehumanization, subjugation, degradation, humiliation of the Palestinian people. Continue reading

Lack of context about coverage of hostage/detainee exchange

In terms of ceasefire violations your report makes it seem like both sides are equally at fault. This is not accurate or fair. Israel has overwhelmingly violated the ceasefire agreement and continues to do so. In fact, during the current “ceasefire” and previous ones, Israel has never stopped killing Palestinians. How many Israeli civilians has Hamas killed during this ceasefire agreement? We all know the answer and it speaks volumes. Continue reading

More than 2 years of Israel's genocide, CBC insists on one-sided journalism

At minimum, the segment should have acknowledged that many of the Palestinian bodies previously returned have shown signs of torture, malnutrition, and abuse, some discovered blindfolded for days. Continue reading

Biased unbalanced report violates journalistic standards and ethics

An omission like this amounts to blatant dehumanization of Palestinians and serves the interests of Israel rather than the truth. This is precisely the kind of reporting that deceives Canadians and enables complicity in a horrific genocide. 70,000 Palestinians have been slaughtered, children have been starved to death and 2 million Palestinians are living in tents and rubble with barely enough food and water. In the face of this all, CityNews continues to report heavily on Israelis and their concerns. Continue reading

Thank you again for publishing this piece. I encourage you to continue to draw attention to topics that are often sidelined in Canadian mainstream media. I hope that you will consider updating the article so that readers are provided with information that is accurate and contextually accurate. CBC grilled by the Tories on antisemitism

Your piece describes the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs as a Jewish advocacy group. The group, as its name suggests, is first and foremost an Israeli lobby group. Any statements it makes should be balanced by points of view of Jewish groups opposed to Israeli genocide and Palestinian representatives. Continue reading

Lack of context in coverage of UN peacekeepers shooting Israeli drone

Figures released by the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) show that Israel has committed thousands of ceasefire violations since its implementation, among them over 2,000 armed assaults and nearly 6,000 breaches of Lebanese airspace north of the Blue Line since November 2024.  Continue reading

Constructive feedback on article by Mark Ramzy

They are fundamentally Zionist organizations that support Israel, and many Canadians, including Palestine solidarity activists, view them as part of the broader pro-Israel lobby in Canada, and generally aligned with CIJA, even if they have specific policy disagreements. Continue reading

Concern regarding article on Israel’s bill to annex occupied West Bank

By framing the story as a diplomatic disagreement between U.S. and Israeli officials, AP and therefore CTV removed the onus of attention from the most important fact: the annexation vote is part of an ongoing pattern of illegal settlement expansion and de facto annexation of the Palestinian territories.  Continue reading
