Referring to the occupied Palestinian territories as “what the UN global body calls them” reproduces precisely a form of anti-Palestinian erasure that fails to acknowledge Palestinians as an Indigenous people with a collective identity with rights in relation to occupied and historic Palestine. Leading the article with the perspective of a Palestinian woman in Gaza is much appreciated and rare in our current media landscape. It is also vitally important that victims are duly honored in news reporting. It is refreshing to hear the truth spoken about the fake ceasefire that has not made a whit of difference for Palestinians.
