April 20 Opinion piece by John Bolton

"The US/Israeli insistence that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon is pure hegemonic racism. The only country on the planet that has used nuclear weapons against a defenceless civilian population - twice - is the US. For that country to declare who is allowed and denied nuclear weapons is beyond hypocritical." Continue reading

Feedback on article: "Jewish community top target for reported religion-based hate crimes, Senate committee finds"

"This prioritization of information is dramatically different from the April 21, 2026 Canadian Press article on the same topic, where October 2023 and the broader geopolitical context is mentioned in the fourth and fifth paragraph - of a total of 26 paragraphs." Continue reading

Op-ed by Terry Newsman violates NNC precedent

Granted that opinion writing allows for interpretation and argumentation of facts, it must still adhere to fundamental journalistic standards of accuracy, fairness, and responsible framing expected of Canadian news outlets. This op-ed fails to meet those standards and advances precisely the type of unsupported and harmful generalizations the NNC has previously ruled against. Continue reading

The killing of paramedics is a war crime under IL

The Canadian Association of Journalists’ Ethics Guidelines emphasize that accuracy is a fundamental pillar of responsible journalism. The article should therefore be corrected to clearly identify Israel’s attacks on medical and humanitarian personnel for what they are: violations of international law that constitute war crimes. Unreliable survey, sensationalized findings warrant immediate attention

As it stands, the article amplifies findings from a biased and methodologically limited survey while omitting critical nuance and sensationalizing its conclusions. In doing so, it misleads readers into believing that a single viewpoint is broadly representative of Iranian Canadians, or of Iranians more generally. Iran is not politically homogeneous, and responsible reporting must avoid sweeping, unsupported conclusions.  Continue reading

Letter to Editor - Brave New World Order

Canadians are in for a big surprise when they learn the extent of Carney’s ambitions. With a slim majority just handed to him by unsuspecting Liberals, he’s now primed to unleash an unfettered attack on our rights and freedoms in pursuit of a new world order where our every thought and action is surveilled and controlled. Continue reading

Misleading framing regarding escalation in Lebanon

The claim that Lebanon was “dragged into this war” is therefore misleading, as the Israeli forces had already been conducting near-daily airstrikes in the south. I also write in good faith and from lived experience. My family, like many other Lebanese families, has been affected by Israel’s ceasefire violations since November 2024. Continue reading

Your piece on the Iran ceasefire

"Specifically, the second paragraph refers to 'Israeli attacks on Hezbollah targets near Beirut.' Further down, however, the text references 'airstrikes on Lebanon' that involved 'Israel hitting more than 100 targets' and killed '182 people.'" Continue reading

Feedback on yesterday's article "Pro-Palestinian protesters in court after arrest for Montreal Scotiabank sit-in"

"I particularly appreciated the approach taken in documenting the views from different stakeholders - including activists themselves, their lawyer, and reaching out to the Crown, the City of Montreal, and the police." Continue reading

Palestine solidarity protest is not a hate crime

"Unless Colin can point to specific instances of Palestine solidarity protests becoming criminal, he should not be mentioning the protests that started in response to Israel’s genocide. It has no relevance to this topic other than to parrot the Israeli state narrative that these protestors are antisemitic." Continue reading
